Agreement to terms and conditions.

The website www.takethebiscuit.uk (“the website”) is owned and operated by Sarah Kinghorn trading as Take The Biscuit. References to “we”, “us” or “our” are references to Take The Biscuit. Reference to “you” and “your’ is referencing the customer or client.

Take The Biscuit trades from 11 Berestede Road, London, W6 9NP.

Your use of this website and purchase of any products or service from us is subject to Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree to these Terms and Conditions you must exit our website immediately

Changes to Terms and Conditions

We reserve the right from time to time with or without notice to change these Terms and Conditions at our discretion. These terms were last updated on 23rd June 2020..

Our Service

We want to give you the best possible service but if you’re not happy with any service that you have received from us please email us at info@takethebiscuit.uk and we’ll do our best to get back to you in 24 hours to help resolve the problem.

Placing orders and making payments for custom Pet Portrait biscuits and “buy now" biscuits

We take payment when you place your order. We are only able to accept an order when we have checked that we can fulfill it and the product you want is in stock. If we are unable to accept your order we will let you know as soon as possible, this will always be within two working days.

Dispatch

If your biscuit is in stock and we receive your order before 11.00am we will put it in the post either the same day or the next working day. If we receive your order after 11.00am we will send it out the next working day. If for any reason we are not able to dispatch within the estimated timeframe, we will email you to offer you a later delivery date, refund or different product if your biscuit is not in stock. Orders are dispatched Monday - Friday. We do not dispatch over the weekend.

Returns Policy

As our biscuits are perishable goods we are not able to offer refunds or exchanges. However if your biscuits arrive damaged or you have received the wrong biscuit please contact us immediately on info@takethebiscuit.uk and we will send a replacement or offer a refund, whichever you prefer.

Custom Made Orders Policy

Orders are to be paid in full upon confirmation. Production will not start until payment is received, therefore late payment may cause a delay in delivery. If you wish to cancel your order, please note the following: If an order is cancelled more than 60 days in advance of the agreed dispatch date a 90% refund will be offered. If an order is cancelled between 60-30 days in advance of the agreed dispatch date, a 50% refund will be offered. Unfortunately we are unable to offer any refund if the order is cancelled with less than 30 days notice before the agreed date of dispatch.

We reserve the right not to accept custom orders if the content is offensive or inappropriate

Refund Policy for Custom Made Biscuits for Events

As these are specifically made to order and perishable, we are unable to offer any refunds for biscuits which have been custom made, unless they arrive damaged or broken.

Delivery of custom made/ bespoke biscuits for events

All bespoke, custom made biscuits other than “Pet Portraits” are available only for delivery within London. We use Addison Lee same day courier service delivering Monday to Friday by motorbike or car. If you need a weekend delivery this can sometimes be arranged but it will be by car as Addison Lee do not do bike courier deliveries at the weekend. The cost is calculated on the distance from our premises in Hammersmith, London, W6 9NP to your chosen delivery address and whether the order is being delivered by bike or by car. We will arrange a delivery time convenient to you between 8.30am and 5.30pm. Addison Lee aims to deliver within 3 hours, however please note, this is not a guaranteed time as there may be delays which are out of their control. We therefore can’t accept responsibility for delays which might occur en route to our, or your, premises. We will of course keep you informed if the order has not been picked up from our premises at the specified time and we do the best we can to get your order to you as quickly as possible. Please make sure that someone is available to receive the order, if Addison Lee need to return the biscuits to us, there will be an extra cost for the return journey and also an extra cost for any re-delivery. We always recommend that you try to receive delivery at least one day before you need them and we aim to dispatch deliveries from our premises between 8.30am and 10.00am to hopefully avoid any unforeseen circumstances which could cause a delay.

Delivery of ready made biscuits and Pet Portrait Biscuits.

Ready made biscuits (ie biscuits which have not been custom made, such as the “Bees Knees” biscuit) and Pet Portrait Biscuits can be posted to addresses throughout the UK. We do not post to the rest of the world. Parcels under 2kg go by Royal Mail, “signed for” 1st class delivery. Parcel over 2kg are delivered by Parcel Force, 24 hour. Estimated delivery takes between one to two working days. However please note that this is not a guaranteed delivery time and we cannot take responsibility for any delays that might occur once the order has been handed over to Royal Mail. If there are any problems we will of course try our best to help. As this is a signed for service someone needs to be at home to receive the parcel. Royal Mail categorises a parcel as “lost” if it has not been delivered after 15 working days. If your parcel has not arrived after this time, we’ll offer you a refund or replacement. Please note we cannot accept responsibility for orders returned to us if Royal Mail were unable to deliver due to incorrect addresses or failure for the recipient to collect or sign for their parcel.

Your privacy is important to us. To better protect your privacy we provide this notice explaining our online information practices and the choices you can make about the way your information is collected and use.

The Information We Collect

This notice applies to all information collected or submitted on the Take The Biscuit website. On pages where you can order biscuits or make enquiries the information collected can include the following:

Name, Address, Email Address, Phone Number, Credit or Debit Card Information

Where you are ordering a gift you will need to submit the recipient’s address. Therefore we will collect the following:

Name, Address, Phone Number.

The Way We Use Information

By entering into agreement with us when you place an order, you have consented to the use of your data. You may ask us at any point not to share your information with third parties for this purpose by contacting us at info@takethebiscuit.uk

We use the information you provide about someone else when placing an order only to ship the product and to confirm delivery. We do not share this information with outside parties except to the extent where it is necessary to complete the order.
